Goat Exchange Program
This month, the Janamaitri Cooperative successfully organized the Goat Distribution Program. A total of 56 goats were distributed among the women of various Janamaitri Women’s Groups.
This program operates on a two-year rotation basis. Women who receive goats this year will return them to another woman in two years, ensuring the benefits of the program continue to support the community.
Thamdanda Women Group, Temal
With the coordination of the women’s group, we arranged for the distribution of all the necessary seeds and items for winter vegetable farming. The women’s group took charge of the seed distribution and established nurseries for the seedlings themselves. This demonstrates that our ongoing efforts with these women have equipped them with the skills to work independently whenever possible.
Prabin recently conducted a field monitoring visit to Thamdanda. During the visit, he held a meeting with the women’s group to discuss progress and address any issues. He also provided essential technical support on nursery management and seedling care.
Janamaitri Cooperative Women Group, Rayale Village
Over the past couple of months, Prabin has distributed seeds and provided basic orientation training and supplies to all 22 women’s groups formed by the Janamaitri Cooperative in Rayale Village. Nursery establishment work is currently ongoing across different groups.
A one-day program review workshop was held in August, with a total of 18 women from previous year’s groups in attendance. The workshop was highly productive, providing these women with the opportunity to continue their business development growth.
