We support unprivileged families and provide basic needs such as shelter, education, water and sanitation, opportunities and kindness. We regularly have projects to specifically target an area of need.

HLF will make every effort to use 100% of your support for the specific project you have chosen, however, if the support for that particular project exceeds the need, we will use your support in a project that has similar objectives.
Water & Sanitation
The Thamdanda Integrated Water Supply and Sanitation Project is planned for the Timal Rural Municipality, Kavre district that incorporates communities within five villages that are home to 439 people living in 94 households.
Education
Every year as many as 20,000 girls from the poorest parts of rural Nepal are trafficked. They and their families are tricked with false promises of good jobs, education, or lured by proposals of marriage.
Community
HLF supports the unprivileged families and provides those basic needs and education for the children. It looks after the families and children who has been affected due to the head of the family like a father who goes.
Rescue & Relief
On Saturday, April 25, 2015 a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck Nepal, just northwest of the capital of Kathmandu. It was the worst quake to strike the region in more than 80 years.
In 2025, Rabindra Tamang will embark on his most ambitious challenge yet—climbing to the summit of Mt. Everest to raise funds for the Chepang community in Nepal. This monumental effort aims to provide shelter, food, education, and clean water to families in need. All funds raised will directly support the Himalayan Leaky Foundation’s projects, including rebuilding homes, creating clean water solutions for Chepang villages, and empowering women through ongoing programs. Join us in this journey to bring hope and lasting change to the lives of those who need it most. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.

A successful mission—Rabindra climbs to the top of the world
In late May 2025, our amazing Co-Founder Rabindra Tamang achieved an extraordinary milestone — summiting Mt Everest. His final push to the summit was an excruciating 36-hour journey, including an 8-hour wait just below Hillary’s Step. At that altitude — the “death zone” — every extra moment carries life-or-death risk. After his successful summit, Rabindra was evacuated to Kathmandu, where he was treated for pneumonia and made a full recovery. We are incredibly proud of Rabindra. By reaching the world’s highest peak, he has secured his place among the world’s great mountaineers — a reflection of his determination, resilience, and spirit....
