About Rabindra Tamang:

Rabindra’s journey in humanitarian work began in 2015 when he partnered with Clare to assist earthquake victims in Nepal. The devastating earthquake of April 2015 left countless families in need of immediate relief, and Rabindra was at the forefront of these efforts. Following the passing of Clare’s father, John “Leaky,” in 2016, Rabindra co-founded the Himalayan Leaky Foundation (HLF) with Clare. Their shared vision was to transform the lives of those in need, and since its inception, the foundation has provided vital support in the form of food, education, and shelter to communities across Nepal.

Some of Rabindra’s notable achievements through HLF include:

Emergency Support & Bhaktapur Community Rebuilding: After the 2015 earthquake, Rabindra and the team built the Bhaktapur Community to provide safe housing for the victims.

The Challenge:

In 2025, Rabindra will undertake one of his most ambitious challenges yet: climbing to the summit of Mt. Everest, the roof of the world. This climb is dedicated to raising funds to provide shelter, food, education, and clean water for the Chepang families. As a symbolic gesture, Rabindra plans to carry the banner of our sponsors to the summit, showcasing the collective effort to make a difference.

Rabindra and the Himalayan Leaky Foundation are appealing for donors and sponsors to join this cause. The funds raised will go towards clean water solutions and rebuilding homes in a Chepang village to ensure that the children and families in this community have access to the basic needs and opportunities for a better future and also supporting HLF’s ongoing Women Empowerment Programme.

All funds raised from this initiative will be directed to the Himalayan Leaky Foundation, ensuring that every dollar makes a meaningful impact on the ground.
